IPTV on Xbox

IPTV on Xbox: MyIPTV Player and Kodi

Compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Series X. The console won't replace a set-top box, but it's sufficient for watching TV: the player can be installed from the Microsoft Store, and the playlist is obtained from the Utgard TV cabinet.

What You Will Need

  • An Utgard TV account with an active package or a trial for 2 hours.
  • A link to the playlist from the "Playlist" section in the cabinet.
  • An Xbox with internet, preferably via cable.

Step 1. MyIPTV Player

  1. Open the Microsoft Store on the console, find MyIPTV Player, and install it — the app is free.
  2. Launch it, open "Settings," and select "Add new playlist and EPG source."
  3. In the "Remote channel list" section, enter any name and paste the playlist link, then click "Add remote list."
  4. Return to "Settings," in the "Select channel playlist" section, choose the added playlist, and click "Refresh" — channels will appear in a grouped list.
Entering the link with the gamepad is tedious: connect a USB keyboard to the console or type the address in the Xbox app on your phone — it can send text to the input field on the console.

Step 2. Kodi — if you need a TV guide and archive

Kodi is also available in the Microsoft Store. It features the PVR IPTV Simple Client with a full TV guide and archive on channels with recording — setup is described in the Kodi instructions, which are the same for all systems.

If Something Isn't Working

  • The list is empty after "Refresh." Check that the link is pasted in full, including the part after the question mark, and that this playlist is selected.
  • One channel says "Subscription inactive." The package is unpaid or the trial is not enabled. Activate the package in the cabinet and refresh the playlist.
  • No TV guide. In MyIPTV Player, add the guide address https://tv.utgard.tv/epg/epg.xml.gz in the same "Add new playlist and EPG source" window, EPG section; or use Kodi.
  • The picture is breaking up. For HD, 5 Mbps is sufficient, for 4K — about 25; connect the console via cable.
